Diversity issues can be difficult to cover effectively through a medium such as elearning, as they’re often related to deep-seated and perhaps even unconscious prejudice.
We were tasked with creating a learning programme for the Environment Agency that engaged the learner while also provoking reflection and, most importantly, avoided ‘lecturing’ them.
To meet these requirements, we developed a series of scenarios that encouraged the learner to reflect on the implications of various situations. To make sure learners didn’t feel like we were ‘lecturing’ them, we used these scenarios as a tool to suggest and explore more appropriate methods of handling situations that learners may encounter in their regular working day.
