Web Application Developer

£25,000.00 to £30,000.00 /year

Role

As a full time application developer you’ll work with an enthusiastic team to produce a range of large-scale educational systems, with millions of users, rich interfaces and complex features.

Responsibilities

Working on a range of challenging projects, you’ll be programming mainly in PHP and Javascript, using frameworks such as Zend, Symfony, React and Angular. You’ll be involved from concept to completion, and should consider deployment, scalability and security at all times as well as how to help the team implement best practices on a daily basis.

You’ll be implementing interface designs in HTML and CSS from documents provided by our creative staff or clients.

Through the lifecycle of project, you’ll keep the project team informed of progress through face to face meetings and systems including our bug tracker, and project management software (such as Trello and Basecamp). You will maintain version control over project code with GIT.

Person specification

You will need to be an expert in:

  • OOP principles
  • PHP
  • JS
  • SQL.

We will expect you to be competent in:

  • CSS and modern design principles (including mobile).
  • LAMP or node based stack
  • JQuery
  • version control (preferably GIT).

You should have several years experience of:

  • enterprise scale application development
  • working in a team.

It would set you apart from the competition if you already have experience of:

  • AWS cloud architecture.
  • ecommerce
  • cordova
  • the latest Zend, Symfony, or Laravel frameworks.
  • React or Angular.
